Founded in 1982, Atom Ltd prides itself on providing creative solutions in the form of industrial models, prototypes and mock-ups for leading blue chip companies, inventors and creative consultants.
Using a range of traditional and the latest rapid prototyping techniques, Atom specialises in developing creative solutions for exhibitions and displays, awards and trophies, innovative and structural packaging, concept development and batch production. Their work includes bespoke window dressings for leading high street retailers.
The Project
Having an impressive and eye-catching window display is crucial for retailers. Not only must it attract shoppers’ attention, it must also clearly convey their campaign message and reinforce their brand values. It’s no wonder that high end retailers spend a great deal of time and money to make sure that their window displays are the best in town.
Atom Ltd was given the brief to create a unique window display for the flagship London branch of a national chain of department stores, as part of a Spring promotion. Included in the design specification was over 150 metres of light and dark grey gloss rippled-effect flooring. The production required specialist large vacuum forming machinery, which led Atom to call upon Interform Manufacturing to produce the flooring.
Working to a tight two week deadline and specific brief was a challenge that the Interform Manufacturing team relished meeting. To achieve the flooring’s unique look, they selected High Impact Polystyrene, as it is durable with superb aesthetic qualities; making it ideal for the project.
As the bespoke material also had to be colour matched, to source bespoke material, Interform Manufacturing was able to source this from its loyal supplier base and meet the tight deadline.
The Result
Atom Ltd was delighted with the fast turnaround and product quality. The window displays and the flooring were on view to London shoppers at the well known department store in London in March 2012.
