The Client
Kimberly-Clark Ltd is a global personal and health care products company. Founded over 140 years ago, it owns leading brands such as Kleenex, Huggies and Kotex, which are sold in over 175 countries.
The Project
Last year Kimberly-Clark launched The Healthy Workplace Project, with the aim to encourage a more hygienic office environment. Statistics suggest that minor illnesses such as colds, may account for one in three of sickness and unplanned absences in the workplace. Kimberly-Clark noted that if workers’ sanitation routines were fortified, the amount of time and money lost within companies could be reduced, thus producing a happier and more productive workplace.
Kimberly-Clark approached Interform Manufacturing with the concept of the Meeting Room Caddy, a product that would allow employees to have an array of essential hygiene products available at their fingertips. The caddy containing tissues, hand wipes and antibacterial liquid hand gel, needed to be sleek and compact so that it could fit into practical locations such as meeting rooms, whilst blending seamlessly into the office décor.
Vacuum forming was the ideal process for these Meeting Room Caddies as it can create beautifully smooth lines in a number of finishes. Kimberly-Clark opted for a steel and wood finishes which would suit both modern and traditional office spaces. Interform Manufacturing’s valuable knowledge was brought in to practise over issues with the design, which helped to improve the manufacturing process and reduce costs.
The Result
Not only have the caddies been popular within offices but they have also received international acclaim. The 2013 European Office Product Awards recognised the caddy with the prestigious award of Best Facilities Management Product of the year.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have received this award, and we could not have achieved this without the help of Interform Manufacturing. Throughout the design and manufacturing process they provided exceptional customer service and technical support, and it has been a pleasure to work with such a team.”
